FashionABLE has been created to platform diversity and inclusion, as well as integrity, where people from all walks of life have been encouraged to participate and celebrate all the different abilities, disabilities, shapes and sizes, cultures, and ages.
The first and the second fashionABLE fashion shows took place inside the Waverley Station, the third at the Scottish Parliament.
We then decided to take a different approach and focus on taking more time on the confidence building, as opposed to the fashion show being the end product. The modelling and confidence-building workshops, including a mini portfolio building, took place at the Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre, that kindly supported and funded the latest project.
We are now looking to bring the fashionABLE back in 2027. Please stay tuned for more information coming soon!
fashionABLE, celebrating the Year of Youth at the Scottish Parliament, was organised and funded by Hand Up Events and sister company LocalMotive Markets. Thanks to Alex Holme for this wonderful film, created by our fashionABLE partner Upmo - a charity providing support and opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and autism across Edinburgh, East Lothian and Midlothian.
fashionABLE showcases inclusivity, diversity and integrity through fashion and creative workshops.
