Hosted a joyful Ceilidh in the Gardens for Edinburgh Tartan Parade Participants and produced the Usher Hall Celebration Concert, featuring top Scottish talent, including RURA, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers, and the wonderful Gail Porter as host.

Advanced the World Fair Trade Tartan Initiative, now working with Peru

Worked in partnership with Allpa Peru, a WFTO member, to produce new baby alpaca wraps and scarves that have been woven using the 10 Principles of Fair Trade.

About the World Fair Trade Day

Celebrating World Fair Trade Day through concerts, parades and positive mainstream engagement.

World Fair Trade Day, celebrated on the second Saturday of May, is a global platform that promotes and engages consumers with the wider Fair Trade Movement, particularly the arts and crafts made by over 350 members in 70+ countries.

Every year there are numerous events happening around the globe in celebration of this special day, and here in Scotland we have celebrated this special occasion at the Ross Band Stand, in the heart of our capital city, and we have also gathered at the iconic Usher Hall, showcasing a mix of local talent and international music; stalls selling Fair Trade crafts, artisan goods and snacks; and messages on screen from World Fair Trade Organisations (WFTOs) from around the globe representing WTFO members.
